Chicken Filling
- 1 cup cooked chicken breast, shredded (rotisserie or poached)
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped green onions
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For the Rolls
- 1 (8-ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing)
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley or Italian seasoning (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Make the Chicken Filling: In a medium bowl, combine shredded chicken, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly incorporated and creamy.
- Prepare the Crescent Dough: Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into 8 triangles along the perforations. Lay them out on the prepared baking sheet.
- Assemble the Rolls: Spoon a heaping tablespoon of the chicken mixture onto the wide end of each triangle. Gently roll up each dough triangle, starting from the wide end and tucking the filling inside as you go. Place the rolls seam side down on the baking sheet.
- Brush and Garnish: Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter and, if desired, sprinkle with dried parsley or Italian seasoning for extra flavor and color.
- Bake: Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and crisp and the filling is hot.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the rolls to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm as an appetizer, snack, or main dish with your favorite dipping sauce!
Notes
- Use rotisserie chicken for ultimate convenience and flavor.
- Swap in other cheeses such as mozzarella or pepper jack for different flavor profiles.
- Add chopped cooked bacon or a pinch of cayenne for a twist.
- Leftovers reheat well in a toaster oven or air fryer to restore crispiness.
- These are great for meal prepping; refrigerate or freeze before baking and bake fresh when ready to serve.
