Ingredients
Main Ingredients:
- 3 cups cooked chicken breast (shredded or cubed)
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
For the Topping:
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Layer the casserole: Spread the cooked chicken in the baking dish, pour marinara sauce over it, sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Top with mozzarella and half of the Parmesan cheese.
- Make the breadcrumb topping: Combine panko breadcrumbs, olive oil, salt, and remaining Parmesan. Sprinkle over the cheese layer.
- Bake: Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Garnish and serve: Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a heartier meal, serve over cooked pasta or with garlic bread.
- Rotisserie chicken can be used for convenience.
