Description

A quick and easy Chicken Broccoli Stir Fry recipe that is perfect for a busy weeknight dinner. Tender chicken and crisp broccoli are cooked in a savory sauce, served over fluffy rice, and garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.

Ingredients

For the Stir Fry:

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breast, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

For the Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth or water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

For Serving:

  • Cooked rice
  • Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, brown sugar, chicken broth, and sesame oil. Set aside.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 4–5 minutes until lightly browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  3. Stir Fry: Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the skillet. Stir-fry the broccoli for 2–3 minutes, then add garlic and ginger and cook for another minute until fragrant. Return the chicken to the pan and pour in the sauce. Stir well to coat everything evenly and cook for 2–3 more minutes until the sauce thickens and everything is heated through.
  4. Serve: Serve hot over rice, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.

Notes

  • You can add other vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas.
  • For a gluten-free version, use tamari instead of soy sauce and check your oyster sauce label.
