Description

A rich, creamy, and comforting casserole loaded with chicken, crispy bacon, ranch-seasoned cheese sauce, and golden tater tots—perfect for busy weeknights or freezer meals.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded (rotisserie recommended)
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning (or homemade equivalent)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • 2 green onions, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix cooked chicken, bacon, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, ranch seasoning, and 1 cup of shredded cheese.
  3. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Top with frozen tater tots in a single layer. Sprinkle remaining 1 cup of cheese over the top.
  5. Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, until the tater tots are golden brown and the casserole is bubbling around the edges.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

  • Customize with hot sauce or jalapeños for spice.
  • Add veggies like corn, peas, or broccoli for extra nutrition.
  • Substitute chicken with turkey, ham, or sausage.
  • Try different cheeses like mozzarella or Pepper Jack for variation.
