Description

Cherry Pie Iced Tea is a fruity, refreshing drink that tastes just like summer in a glass. Combining the bold flavor of black tea with sweet cherry juice and a hint of vanilla and almond, this iced tea is reminiscent of homemade cherry pie—perfect for sipping on warm afternoons or serving at picnics and cookouts.

Ingredients

Tea Base

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 black tea bags

Flavoring

  • 1 cup cherry juice (100% juice)
  • ¼ cup simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon almond extract

Garnish & Serving

  • Fresh cherries (for garnish)
  • Lemon slices (for garnish)
  • Ice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Steep the Tea: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil, then remove from heat and steep the black tea bags for 5 to 7 minutes. Remove and discard the tea bags, then allow the brewed tea to cool to room temperature.
  2. Mix the Ingredients: In a pitcher, combine the cooled tea, cherry juice, simple syrup, vanilla extract, and almond extract. Stir well to ensure all flavors are thoroughly blended.
  3. Chill the Drink: Refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld and chill the tea thoroughly.
  4. Serve and Garnish: Pour the chilled iced tea over ice cubes in glasses. Garnish with fresh cherries and lemon slices for an attractive and flavorful presentation.

Notes

  • For a stronger cherry flavor, use cherry concentrate or add muddled fresh cherries to the tea mixture before chilling.
  • Make the iced tea sparkling by topping with club soda just before serving.
  • Adjust the amount of simple syrup to control sweetness according to your taste preference.
