Description

These Cheesy Tuna Nuggets are a delightful twist on traditional nuggets, combining the goodness of tuna with the richness of cheddar cheese. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, these nuggets are perfect for a quick appetizer or a fun snack.


Ingredients

    Main Ingredients:

  • 2 cans (5 oz each) tuna in water, drained and flaked
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • For Coating:

  • ½ cup additional breadcrumbs
  • olive oil spray or a small amount of oil for baking or frying


Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 400°F or prepare a skillet with a small amount of oil over medium heat.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine flaked tuna, cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, parsley, and lemon juice. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape and Coat: Shape the mixture into small nugget-sized patties and coat each with the additional breadcrumbs.
  4. Bake or Fry: Place the nuggets on a lined baking sheet, spray with olive oil, and bake for 15-18 minutes or pan-fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden.
  5. Serve: Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
