Description

A decadent and creamy shrimp and crab spinach dip, loaded with three kinds of cheese and fresh spinach, baked to golden perfection. This rich appetizer is perfect for parties and gatherings, served warm with crusty bread, crackers, or vegetable sticks.

Ingredients

Dairy & Cheese

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Seafood

  • 1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped
  • 1 cup cooked crab meat, drained and flaked

Vegetables & Aromatics

  • 1 1/2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped

Seasonings & Sauces

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the dip.
  2. Mix Base Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise until you achieve a smooth and creamy consistency.
  3. Add Cheeses: Stir in shredded mozzarella, cheddar, and grated Parmesan cheeses until they are evenly incorporated into the mixture.
  4. Incorporate Seafood and Vegetables: Add the chopped cooked shrimp, flaked crab meat, chopped fresh spinach, minced garlic, and finely chopped green onions to the cheese mixture. Mix thoroughly.
  5. Season the Mixture: Add lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Adjust seasoning if necessary to suit your taste.
  6. Transfer to Baking Dish: Spoon the combined mixture into a baking dish and spread it out evenly to ensure even baking.
  7. Bake the Dip: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Cool and Serve: Remove the dip from the oven and allow it to cool slightly. Serve warm with crusty bread, crackers, or vegetable sticks for dipping.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps in the dip.
  • Using freshly cooked shrimp and crab meat enhances the flavor greatly, but canned crab meat can be used as a substitute.
  • Adjust the amount of garlic and smoked paprika according to your preference for spice and smokiness.
  • Serve immediately for best texture, though leftovers can be reheated gently in the oven.
  • For a spicier twist, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chopped jalapeños.
