Description

These Cheesy Parmesan Mozzarella Bites are crispy, golden bites filled with gooey mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Perfect as a snack or appetizer, they combine a crunchy panko breadcrumb exterior with a melty cheesy center, seasoned lightly with salt, pepper, and optional fresh parsley for a burst of flavor.

Ingredients

Cheese Mixture

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese

Coating

  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Optional

  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  2. Mix Cheeses: In a large bowl, thoroughly combine the shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan cheeses until evenly blended.
  3. Prepare Egg Wash: In a separate bowl, whisk the two large eggs together with salt and pepper to create the coating mixture.
  4. Form Bites: Using your hands, shape the cheese mixture into golf ball-sized bites, making sure they hold together firmly.
  5. Coat Bites: Dip each cheese ball into the egg wash, then roll it in panko breadcrumbs until fully coated to create a crispy exterior.
  6. Bake: Arrange the coated bites on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until they turn golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  7. Serve: Optionally sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley for added color and flavor. Serve warm and enjoy the gooey, cheesy center with the crunchy crust.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add garlic powder or Italian seasoning to the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Serve with marinara or your favorite dipping sauce for enhanced taste.
  • Make sure bites are tightly packed to prevent cheese from oozing out during baking.
  • Can be prepared ahead and baked just before serving.
