Indulge in the ultimate comfort food mashup with these Cheesy Garlic Bread Sloppy Joes. Savory ground beef in a rich tomato sauce, topped with melted cheese, all nestled in garlic buttered hoagie rolls – a family favorite!

Ingredients

For the Sloppy Joes:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

For the Garlic Bread:

  • 4 hoagie rolls or sandwich buns
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cook the beef: In a skillet, cook the ground beef and onion until browned. Add garlic, salt, pepper, ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, paprika, and water. Simmer until thickened.
  3. Prepare the rolls: Split hoagie rolls, spread with garlic butter, and toast in the oven.
  4. Assemble: Spoon the beef mixture onto rolls, top with cheeses, and bake until melted.
  5. Serve: Top with remaining rolls and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can use provolone or cheddar instead of mozzarella.
  • For a kick, add hot sauce or jalapeños to the meat.
  • Pair with coleslaw or sweet potato fries.
