Description
Cheesy Beefy Rolls Up are a delicious and easy-to-make, savory appetizer or main course featuring ground beef cooked with Italian seasoning, garlic, and onion, rolled inside crescent or pizza dough with melted mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. These golden-baked rolls are perfect for family dinners or entertaining guests.
Ingredients
Beef Mixture
- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ small onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup marinara or pizza sauce
Dough & Cheese
- 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough or pizza dough
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Topping
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Cook Beef Mixture: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until browned and fully cooked, about 6 to 8 minutes. Drain any excess grease. Add minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper, cooking for an additional minute. Stir in the marinara or pizza sauce and remove from heat. Allow the mixture to cool slightly.
- Prepare Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough or pizza dough on a clean surface. If using crescent rolls, press the seams together firmly to form one rectangular sheet.
- Assemble Rolls: Spread the cooled beef mixture evenly over the dough. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheeses evenly on top.
- Roll and Slice: Starting from the long side, roll the dough tightly into a log shape. Use a sharp knife to slice the log into 8 equal rolls. Place the rolls evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheet.
- Add Toppings: Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter and sprinkle garlic powder evenly over them for flavor and color.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and the cheese inside is bubbly and melted.
- Garnish and Serve: Optionally garnish with chopped parsley. Serve warm and enjoy these cheesy, flavorful rolls.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or sausage in place of beef for a different flavor.
- Serve with extra marinara sauce or ranch dressing as a dipping option.
- These rolls work great as appetizers, lunch, or a fun family dinner meal.
