Ingredients
Strawberries
- 1 pound fresh strawberries
Cheesecake Filling
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
Topping and Garnish
- 1/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Wash the Strawberries: Rinse the fresh strawberries thoroughly under cold water, gently rubbing them to remove any dirt or impurities.
- Dry the Strawberries: Pat the strawberries dry carefully with a clean kitchen towel or paper towel to avoid excess moisture.
- Prepare the Base: Slice off the green tops of the strawberries to create a flat surface for standing and filling.
- Hollow Out Strawberries: Using a sharp knife or a small melon baller, hollow out the center of each strawberry, making sure not to pierce through the bottom, creating space for the filling.
- Beat the Cream Cheese: Place the softened cream cheese into a medium mixing bowl and beat it with an electric mixer or whisk until smooth and creamy, about 1-2 minutes.
- Add Powdered Sugar: Gradually add powdered sugar to the cream cheese, mixing well after each addition to ensure even sweetness and smooth texture.
- Mix in Vanilla Extract: Pour in the vanilla extract and continue mixing until it’s fully incorporated into the mixture.
- Incorporate Sour Cream: Add sour cream to the bowl and mix until the filling is smooth and creamy.
- Optional Chocolate Chips: Fold mini chocolate chips gently into the cheesecake filling if using, distributing them evenly throughout.
- Fill the Strawberries: Fill a piping bag with the cheesecake mixture or use a spoon to carefully stuff the hollowed strawberries, packing the filling firmly inside.
- Add Topping: Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs generously on top of each filled strawberry for added texture and flavor.
- Arrange for Chilling: Place the filled strawberries on a serving platter, covering with plastic wrap.
- Refrigerate: Chill the platter in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the filling to set.
- Garnish: Just before serving, garnish each strawberry with a fresh mint leaf for a pop of color and fresh flavor.
- Serve: Serve the cheesecake deviled strawberries chilled and enjoy as a refreshing, sweet treat.
