Ingredients
Brownie Layer:
- ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs

- ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp baking powder
Cheesecake Layer:
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- ¼ cup granulated sugar (for cheesecake layer)
- 1 large egg (for cheesecake layer)
- ½ tsp vanilla extract (for cheesecake layer)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Mix Brownie Batter: In a medium bowl, whisk melted butter, 1 cup sugar, 2 eggs, and 1 tsp vanilla until smooth. Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder; mix until combined.
- Layer Batter: Pour most of the brownie batter into the pan, reserving ¼ cup.
- Prepare Cheesecake: In another bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Mix in ¼ cup sugar, 1 egg, and ½ tsp vanilla until creamy.
- Layer Cheesecake: Spread cheesecake mixture over the brownie batter. Drop spoonfuls of reserved brownie batter on top and swirl with a knife.
- Bake: Bake for 35–40 minutes until the center is set. Cool before slicing.
