Description
Cheddar Ranch Pinwheels are a delicious and easy no-cook appetizer featuring a creamy ranch and cheddar cheese filling spread over soft flour tortillas, rolled up, chilled, and sliced into bite-sized pinwheels. Perfect for parties and gatherings, these flavorful finger foods can be prepared ahead of time and served chilled or at room temperature.
Ingredients
Filling
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 ounce ranch seasoning mix (1 packet)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup finely diced red bell pepper (optional)
Wrap
- 4 large flour tortillas (10-inch)
Instructions
- Prepare the filling: In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and ranch seasoning mix until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onions, and the diced red bell pepper if using, ensuring everything is evenly incorporated.
- Spread the mixture: Lay out each flour tortilla flat and evenly spread a thin layer of the prepared filling over the entire surface of each tortilla, covering edge to edge for maximum flavor in every bite.
- Roll the tortillas: Tightly roll up each tortilla to form a spiral log, making sure the filling stays inside. Wrap each rolled tortilla tightly in plastic wrap to hold its shape.
- Chill the rolls: Place the wrapped rolls in the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 hour to firm up, which makes slicing easier and helps the flavors meld together.
- Slice and serve: After chilling, unwrap the rolls and slice each into 1-inch wide pinwheels. Arrange on a platter and serve chilled or at room temperature as a tasty, crowd-pleasing appetizer.
Notes
- You can prepare these pinwheels up to 24 hours in advance and slice them just before serving for convenience.
- Add cooked and crumbled bacon or chopped deli ham to the filling for extra savory flavor.
- Use flavored tortillas, such as spinach or sun-dried tomato varieties, to add a colorful and tasty twist.
