Description

This Chai-Spiced Granola recipe is a flavorful twist on traditional granola, infused with warm spices like cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom. Perfect for a cozy breakfast or snack!


Ingredients

For the Granola:

  • 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (such as almonds, pecans, or walnuts)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 1/4 cup ground flaxseed (optional)

For the Spiced Liquid:

  • 1/2 cup maple syrup or honey
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil or butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

To Add After Baking:

  • 1/2 cup dried fruit (such as cranberries or chopped dates, added after baking)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the Granola: In a large bowl, combine oats, nuts, coconut flakes, and flaxseed if using.
  3. Prepare the Spiced Liquid: In a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, melt maple syrup (or honey), coconut oil, and vanilla extract. Stir in the chai spices.
  4. Coat the Granola: Pour the spiced liquid over the oat mixture and stir until evenly coated. Spread onto the baking sheet.
  5. Bake: Bake for 25–30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden and fragrant. Cool completely, then stir in dried fruit.
  6. Store: Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
