Ingredients
Dry Ingredients:

- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Wet Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup canned pumpkin purée
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Additional:
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1 1/2 cups hot water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
- Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, granulated sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg.
- Add wet ingredients: Stir in pumpkin purée, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until a thick batter forms.
- Include pecans: Fold in chopped pecans and spread the batter in the baking dish.
- Prepare caramel mixture: Mix brown sugar with hot water until dissolved and pour over the batter without stirring.
