Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- Flaky sea salt (optional for garnish)
- Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (optional for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy removal.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and bittersweet chocolate together in 30-second bursts, stirring after each. Once smooth, set aside to cool slightly.
- Whisk in both sugars into the warm chocolate mixture until smooth, then add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract. The batter should be thick and glossy.
- Gently fold in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Spread half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce and half of the peanut butter over the batter. Use a butter knife to swirl the caramel and peanut butter through the batter. Repeat with the remaining batter, caramel, and peanut butter, swirling again to create marbled patterns.
- Bake for 32-36 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is slightly jiggly. Cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.
- Optional: Sprinkle with flaky sea salt right after baking for extra flavor. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for the ultimate indulgence!
Notes
- If you prefer crunchy peanut butter, feel free to swap it in for a bit of extra texture.
- For an extra decadent treat, drizzle additional caramel sauce on top before serving.
- If you’re doubling the recipe, use a 9×13-inch pan and adjust the baking time by about 8-12 minutes.
- Ensure the caramel sauce is thick and rich to achieve the best texture in the brownies.
