Ingredients
Dough:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup peeled and finely chopped apple (such as Honeycrisp)
Caramel Drizzle:
- 1/2 cup soft caramels (melted for drizzle)
- 1 teaspoon milk (for thinning caramel, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the dough: Cream softened butter with granulated and brown sugars. Add egg and vanilla. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Combine wet and dry ingredients, then fold in chopped apple.
- Bake: Scoop dough onto the baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes until golden.
- Drizzle caramel: Melt caramels with milk in the microwave, drizzle over cooled cookies.
