Description

These Caramel Chocolate Crunch Bars are a delightful no-bake treat combining crispy rice cereal coated in a rich melted chocolate and peanut butter mixture, topped with a luscious caramel drizzle. Perfectly sweet and crunchy, they make an easy and irresistible dessert or snack for any occasion.

Ingredients

Chocolate Mixture

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup butter

Crunch Base

  • 2 cups crisp rice cereal

Caramel Topping

  • 1 cup caramel bits
  • 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper to ensure easy removal of the bars once set.
  2. Melt Chocolate Mixture: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips, creamy peanut butter, and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly between each interval until the mixture is completely melted and smooth.
  3. Melt Caramel: In a separate small bowl, combine the caramel bits and water. Microwave for 30 seconds and then stir until the caramel is melted and smooth.
  4. Mix Cereal and Chocolate: Place the crisp rice cereal in a large bowl. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal and gently stir until every piece is well coated in the chocolate and peanut butter blend.
  5. Press Mixture into Pan: Transfer the chocolate-coated cereal mixture into the prepared pan. Press it firmly and spread evenly to create a uniform layer.
  6. Add Caramel Drizzle: Drizzle the smooth melted caramel evenly over the top of the pressed chocolate-cereal mixture.
  7. Chill to Set: Refrigerate the pan for at least 1 hour or until the bars have completely set and firmed up.
  8. Cut and Serve: Once chilled and firm, remove from the pan using the parchment paper. Cut into 16 equal squares and serve.

Notes

  • For easier cutting, run a sharp knife under hot water, dry it, then slice through the bars.
  • Store bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep them firm and fresh.
  • You can substitute almond butter for peanut butter for a different nutty flavor.
  • If you prefer a less sweet treat, use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.
  • Make sure to use crisp rice cereal for the best crunch texture.
