Ingredients
- 3–4 ripe heirloom or vine-ripened tomatoes, sliced
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
- 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- Coarse sea salt to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Optional: 1–2 tbsp balsamic glaze
Instructions
- Slice the tomatoes and mozzarella into 1/4-inch rounds.
- On a large serving platter, alternate layers of tomato slices, mozzarella slices, and basil leaves in an overlapping pattern.
- Season generously with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.
