Sweet Potatoes
- 4 large sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
Syrup
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Prepare sweet potatoes: Arrange sweet potatoes in the baking dish.
- Make syrup: In a saucepan, melt butter, add brown sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and water. Simmer for 2–3 minutes, then stir in vanilla.
- Coat sweet potatoes: Pour syrup over sweet potatoes. Bake covered for 30 minutes, then uncovered for 20–25 minutes.
- Rest and serve: Let the dish rest for 5 minutes before serving.
