Description

These Cajun Blackened Chicken Alfredo Pizza Rolls are a delicious fusion of spicy Cajun-seasoned chicken, creamy Alfredo sauce, and melted cheeses wrapped in soft pizza dough. Perfect as an appetizer or main course, they offer a flavorful and satisfying bite-sized treat ideal for game days or casual meals.

Ingredients

For the Dough and Roll

  • 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • flour for dusting
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

For the Chicken

  • 1 large boneless, skinless chicken breast, sliced thin
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

For the Toppings

  • ¾ cup Alfredo sauce
  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Prepare the Dough: Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle measuring about 10 by 14 inches, creating an even layer for the filling.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the thinly sliced chicken with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, and salt. Sauté the chicken slices for 3 to 4 minutes on each side until they are cooked through and have a slightly blackened appearance. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
  4. Assemble the Rolls: Spread the Alfredo sauce evenly across the rolled-out dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheeses over the sauce, then arrange the cooked Cajun chicken slices on top.
  5. Roll and Slice: Starting from the long edge of the dough, roll it tightly into a log. Using a sharp knife, slice the log into 8 to 10 even rolls and place them cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes until they turn golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve the pizza rolls warm, perfect for an appetizer, lunch, or snack.

Notes

  • For added heat, incorporate crushed red pepper flakes into the seasoning or use a spicy Cajun seasoning blend.
  • Serve these rolls with extra Alfredo sauce or marinara sauce for dipping.
  • These rolls work wonderfully as an appetizer, quick lunch, or for game day snacks.
