Ingredients
For the Dough and Roll
- 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- flour for dusting
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
For the Chicken
- 1 large boneless, skinless chicken breast, sliced thin
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon paprika
- ¼ teaspoon salt
For the Toppings
- ¾ cup Alfredo sauce
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Prepare the Dough: Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle measuring about 10 by 14 inches, creating an even layer for the filling.
- Cook the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the thinly sliced chicken with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, and salt. Sauté the chicken slices for 3 to 4 minutes on each side until they are cooked through and have a slightly blackened appearance. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
- Assemble the Rolls: Spread the Alfredo sauce evenly across the rolled-out dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheeses over the sauce, then arrange the cooked Cajun chicken slices on top.
- Roll and Slice: Starting from the long edge of the dough, roll it tightly into a log. Using a sharp knife, slice the log into 8 to 10 even rolls and place them cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes until they turn golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve the pizza rolls warm, perfect for an appetizer, lunch, or snack.
Notes
- For added heat, incorporate crushed red pepper flakes into the seasoning or use a spicy Cajun seasoning blend.
