Description

Indulge in decadent Cadbury Creme Egg Chocolate Brownies, a luscious treat combining rich chocolate brownie base with gooey, melty Cadbury Creme Egg pieces baked right on top. Perfect for Easter or any chocolate craving, these brownies offer a delightful blend of fudgy texture and creamy candy surprises.

Ingredients

Brownie Base

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)

Topping

  • 6-8 Cadbury Creme Eggs, cut in half or quarters (depending on preference)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Oven & Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
  2. Make the Brownie Batter: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Stir until well combined. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, then mix until the batter is smooth and uniform.
  3. Add Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips carefully to distribute evenly.
  4. Bake the Brownie Base: Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly with a spatula. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with a few moist crumbs but no raw batter.
  5. Add the Creme Eggs: Remove the brownies from the oven, and while still warm, gently press the Cadbury Creme Egg halves or quarters onto the top, spacing them evenly across the surface.
  6. Bake Again: Return the brownies to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes to allow the Creme Eggs to soften and slightly melt into the brownie surface, creating a gooey topping.
  7. Cool & Serve: Let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Once cooled, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the brownies out of the pan. Cut into 12-16 squares and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use good quality Cadbury Creme Eggs for the best creamy filling.
  • Do not overmix the batter to maintain a fudgy texture.
  • Allow the brownies to cool fully before cutting to prevent the topping from sliding off.
  • You can substitute semi-sweet chocolate chips for milk chocolate if preferred.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
