These Buttery Soft Pretzel Bites are the perfect snack for any occasion. Soft, buttery, and delicious, they’re great for dipping in mustard, cheese sauce, or even a cinnamon sugar mix. Easy to make at home, these pretzel bites will be a hit with everyone!
Ingredients
Dough:
- 1 ½ cups warm water (110°F)
 - 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
 - 1 tbsp granulated sugar
 - 4 cups all-purpose flour
 - 1 tsp salt
 - 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
 
Boiling Bath:
- ½ cup baking soda
 
Egg Wash:
- 1 egg, beaten
 
Topping:
- Coarse salt
 - 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (for brushing)
 
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Add melted butter, salt, and flour gradually until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface and let rise for 1 hour.
 - Shape and Boil: Divide dough, roll into ropes, and cut into pieces. Boil in water and baking soda.
 - Bake: Brush with egg wash, sprinkle with salt, and bake until golden brown.
 - Finish: Brush with melted butter before serving.
 
Notes
- Best served warm with mustard, cheese sauce, or cinnamon sugar dip.
 - For sweet pretzels, skip salt, brush with butter, and coat in cinnamon sugar after baking.
