Ingredients
Bread
- 1 large baguette, sliced into ½-inch rounds
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Cheese
- 8 ounces burrata cheese, torn into small pieces
Steak
- 1 medium steak (about 10 oz), cooked to medium-rare and thinly sliced
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Garnish
- 2 tablespoons fresh chives or parsley, chopped
- Optional: Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Preheat Oven. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for toasting the baguette slices evenly and to desired crispness.
- Prepare Baguette Slices. Brush the baguette slices with olive oil on both sides and arrange them on a baking sheet so they toast evenly.
- Toast Bread. Place the baking sheet in the oven and toast the baguette slices for 8–10 minutes, flipping them halfway through to achieve a uniform golden and crisp texture.
- Cook Steak. While bread is toasting, season the steak with salt and black pepper. Sear it in a hot skillet for 3–4 minutes per side to reach medium-rare, then remove and let it rest before slicing thinly to retain juiciness.
- Assemble Crostini. Place a spoonful of torn burrata cheese on each toasted baguette slice, then top with a thin slice of cooked steak.
- Add Garnishes. Sprinkle each crostini with chopped fresh chives or parsley for freshness and add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes if you desire a slight spicy kick.
- Serve. Serve the crostini immediately while the bread is still warm and crisp for optimal texture and taste.
Notes
- Use a good quality fresh baguette for the best texture and flavor.
- The steak can be substituted with grilled or roasted beef steak as desired.
- For a milder option, omit the crushed red pepper flakes.
- Ensure the steak rests after cooking to keep it tender and juicy.
- Serve crostini promptly to preserve the crispness of the toasted bread.
