Ingredients
Bread
- ½ French baguette (cut in half lengthwise)
Chicken Mixture
- 2 chicken breasts (from a roasted chicken, about 2 cups shredded)
- ¼ cup Buffalo Wing Sauce (adjust more or less for desired spice level)
Toppings
- 1 cup sharp white cheddar cheese (shredded)
- ¼ cup blue cheese (crumbled)
- 2 green onions (chopped)
- Parsley (chopped, optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400℉ to prepare for baking the assembled French loaf.
- Prepare Chicken Mixture: In a bowl, combine the shredded roasted chicken with the buffalo wing sauce. Adjust the amount of sauce to suit your preferred spice level.
- Assemble the Bread: Spread the chicken mixture evenly on each half of the halved French baguette. Then sprinkle the shredded sharp cheddar cheese evenly over the chicken on both halves.
- Bake: Place the prepared bread halves on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 8 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and is bubbly.
- Add Final Toppings: Remove the bread from the oven and immediately sprinkle the crumbled blue cheese, chopped green onions, and parsley (if using) over the top before serving.
Notes
- Use leftover roasted chicken or store-bought rotisserie chicken for convenience.
- Adjust buffalo sauce quantity based on your desired spice intensity.
- For a milder option, substitute buffalo sauce with a BBQ or ranch sauce.
- The blue cheese adds a tangy contrast but can be omitted or substituted with ranch dressing for those who dislike blue cheese.
- Serve immediately to enjoy the cheese melty and fresh.
