- 1 cup sour cream
- ½ cup buffalo sauce (Frank’s Red Hot recommended)
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
For Serving
- 2 tablespoons blue cheese dressing or ranch, for garnish
- Fritos Scoops
- Baguette slices
- Carrot sticks
- Celery sticks
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, add the shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, sour cream, buffalo sauce, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Mix thoroughly using a large spatula until the mixture is well combined and creamy.
- Prepare for Baking: Spread the mixture evenly in the bottom of a 1.5-quart baking dish. Then sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top to ensure a cheesy crust.
- Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the baking dish in the oven and bake uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted, bubbly, and starting to lightly brown on top.
- Add Garnish and Serve: Remove the dip from the oven and immediately drizzle with blue cheese dressing or ranch as desired. Serve the warm dip with Fritos Scoops, baguette slices, carrot sticks, and celery sticks for dipping. Enjoy the creamy, spicy goodness!
Notes
- Use freshly cooked chicken breasts for best flavor and texture; rotisserie chicken works well too.
- Adjust the amount of buffalo sauce to control the heat level.
- The dip can be made ahead and refrigerated; reheat before serving.
- For extra spice, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or hot sauce to the mixture.
- Substitute blue cheese dressing with ranch if preferred or for a milder taste.
