Ingredients
Dry Ingredients:
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 1/4 cups packed light brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Optional: 2 tablespoons granulated sugar for rolling
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Prepare dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, beat softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mix until combined.
- Combine and form dough: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mix until a dough forms. Optionally, roll dough into balls and coat with granulated sugar.
- Bake: Place the dough balls on prepared baking sheets, bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are set and centers are soft.
- Cool and enjoy: Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
