Ingredients
Brown Sugar Caramel Sauce:
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, butter, and heavy cream. Stir constantly until the butter is melted and the mixture begins to bubble.
- Continue to cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Remove from heat and stir in the salt and vanilla extract.
- Let cool slightly before using. The sauce will continue to thicken as it cools.
