Description

These Brie and Jam Puff Pastry Bites are elegant, bite-sized appetizers perfect for any gathering. Featuring flaky puff pastry filled with creamy Brie cheese and sweet jam, they offer a delightful balance of savory and sweet flavors. Easy to prepare and customizable with different jams and garnishes, they make an impressive yet effortless party snack.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry (thawed)
  • 4 ounces Brie cheese (cut into small cubes)
  • 1/4 cup jam or preserves (such as raspberry, fig, or apricot)
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • Fresh thyme or chopped nuts for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a mini muffin tin or line it with mini cupcake liners to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare the puff pastry: Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut it into 24 equal squares to fit your mini muffin tin wells.
  3. Assemble the bites: Gently press each puff pastry square into the wells of the mini muffin tin. Place a cube of Brie cheese into the center of each pastry cup, followed by a small spoonful of your chosen jam.
  4. Apply egg wash: Lightly brush the edges of the puff pastry with the beaten egg to help the pastry brown beautifully during baking.
  5. Bake: Place the tin in the oven and bake for 12–15 minutes or until the pastry is golden and puffed up.
  6. Cool and garnish: Remove from the oven and allow the bites to cool slightly. Garnish with fresh thyme leaves or chopped nuts if desired.
  7. Serve: Serve the puff pastry bites warm or at room temperature as a delicious appetizer.

Notes

  • These bites can be made ahead of time and gently reheated in the oven before serving.
  • Experiment with different jam flavors such as cranberry, peach, or blackberry for variety.
  • Optional garnishes like chopped pistachios or pecans add a lovely texture and visual appeal.
