Ingredients
Ingredients
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry (thawed)
- 4 ounces Brie cheese (cut into small cubes)
- 1/4 cup jam or preserves (such as raspberry, fig, or apricot)
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
- Fresh thyme or chopped nuts for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a mini muffin tin or line it with mini cupcake liners to prevent sticking.
- Prepare the puff pastry: Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut it into 24 equal squares to fit your mini muffin tin wells.
- Assemble the bites: Gently press each puff pastry square into the wells of the mini muffin tin. Place a cube of Brie cheese into the center of each pastry cup, followed by a small spoonful of your chosen jam.
- Apply egg wash: Lightly brush the edges of the puff pastry with the beaten egg to help the pastry brown beautifully during baking.
- Bake: Place the tin in the oven and bake for 12–15 minutes or until the pastry is golden and puffed up.
- Cool and garnish: Remove from the oven and allow the bites to cool slightly. Garnish with fresh thyme leaves or chopped nuts if desired.
- Serve: Serve the puff pastry bites warm or at room temperature as a delicious appetizer.
Notes
- These bites can be made ahead of time and gently reheated in the oven before serving.
- Experiment with different jam flavors such as cranberry, peach, or blackberry for variety.
- Optional garnishes like chopped pistachios or pecans add a lovely texture and visual appeal.
