Description

These Breakfast Sweet Rolls with Coconut and Toffee are a delightful morning treat combining flaky crescent roll dough with a sweet blend of brown sugar, coconut, toffee bits, and pecans. Baked to golden perfection and drizzled with a creamy vanilla glaze, these rolls are perfect for a quick and indulgent breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

Dough and Filling

  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 oz)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1/3 cup toffee bits
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Glaze

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 375°F and grease an 8-inch round baking dish or cake pan to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface. Press the perforations firmly to seal them, creating one large rectangle to hold the filling evenly.
  3. Add Filling: Brush the entire surface of the dough with melted butter. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the surface, followed by ground cinnamon, shredded coconut, toffee bits, and chopped pecans if using, distributing all ingredients uniformly.
  4. Form Rolls: Starting from one long side of the dough rectangle, carefully and tightly roll the dough into a log shape to enclose the filling inside.
  5. Slice and Arrange: Cut the rolled dough into 8 equal pieces using a sharp knife. Place each piece cut-side up into the prepared baking dish, arranging them snugly but not overcrowded.
  6. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 14 to 16 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown on top and cooked through.
  7. Make Glaze: While the rolls are baking, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth and pourable.
  8. Glaze and Serve: Once the rolls are baked and still warm, drizzle the vanilla glaze over the top. Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For extra richness and a seamless dough without perforation lines, use crescent roll dough sheets if you can find them.
  • These sweet rolls are best enjoyed warm right out of the oven but can be reheated gently for a quick treat the following day.
