Ingredients
Puff Pastry:
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
Scrambled Eggs:
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Filling:
- 4 strips cooked bacon, crumbled (or ½ cup cooked breakfast sausage)
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
- 1 tablespoon chopped chives or green onions
For Assembly:
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare Eggs: Whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Scramble the eggs until just set but still slightly soft. Set aside to cool.
- Prepare Pastry: Roll out the puff pastry, cut into sections, and layer with cream cheese, scrambled eggs, bacon (or sausage), and cheddar. Fold and seal the edges to create bars.
- Bake: Brush with egg wash, make slits on top, and bake for 18–20 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve: Garnish with chopped chives before serving.
