BOTTLE GOURD CURRY WITH GROUND NUT & TOMATO GRAVY
BOTTLE GOURD CURRY WITH GROUND NUT & TOMATO GRAVY is very delicious curry. This curry is one of the tastiest curry among all the bottle gourd curries. Mainly the gravy has an excellent taste. It is an excellent side dish for chapati / rice.
Ingredients:
- Bottle gourd – 7 inches
- Tomatoes – 1 big
- Maida – 2 tbsp
- Cumin seeds – 1/2 tbsp
- Shahjeera – 1/2 tbsp
- Poppy seeds – 1 tbsp
- Garlic – 5 pods
- Coriander seeds -1/2 tbsp
- Ground nuts – 3 tbsp
- Tamarind – 2 inches
- Sugar – ½ tbsp
- Salt -1 ½ – 2 tbsp(as per your taste)
- Chilly powder – 1 ½ tbsp (as per your taste)
- Water – ½ cup
- Oil – 4 tbsp
Preparation Method:
- Wash and peel the skin of the bottle gourd & cut them into small pieces.
- Chop the tomato into pieces.
- In a mixy jar add tomatoes, cumin seeds, shahjeera, salt, chilly powder, coriander seeds, garlic, maida, ground nuts, tamarind, sugar and make all these into fine paste with the help of water.

- Heat a mini pressure cooker or kadai, add oil & add the gravy.

- Fry the gravy until gravy oozes the oil.
- Add bottle gourd pieces and fry for 2 min.

- Add water and cook for 3 whistles.
