Description

Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients on box: eggs, oil, water)

For the Filling:

  • 1 (3.5-ounce) box instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk

For the Topping:

  • 1 (21-ounce) can cherry pie filling
  • 1 (8-ounce) tub whipped topping (thawed)
  • 1/4 cup chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips
  • Maraschino cherries for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare cake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Prepare and bake chocolate cake according to package directions. Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
  2. Prepare pudding filling: In a bowl, whisk together pudding mix and cold milk for 2 minutes until thickened. Pour the pudding over the cake, filling the holes. Let cool completely.
