Description

This Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast Casserole is a hearty and satisfying dish perfect for a weekend brunch. Layers of flaky biscuits, savory sausage gravy, eggs, and cheese come together in one delicious bake that will please a crowd.


Ingredients

For the Casserole:

  • 1 (16 oz) can refrigerated biscuits
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 6 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Nonstick cooking spray


Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prep: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Cut biscuits into quarters and spread in dish.
  2. Cook Sausage: Brown and crumble sausage in a skillet over medium heat without draining fat. Stir in flour, cook for 1–2 minutes.
  3. Make Gravy: Gradually add 2 cups of milk to skillet, stirring until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Assemble: Pour sausage gravy over biscuits. Whisk eggs and milk, pour over casserole. Top with cheddar cheese.
  5. Bake: Bake for 35–40 minutes until set and golden. Let cool before serving.

Notes

  • Enhance with green onions or mushrooms. Try spicy or turkey sausage. Prepare ahead and bake in the morning.
