Ingredients
Base
- About 40 Saltine Crackers (enough to cover one baking sheet)
Toffee Topping
- 1 cup Unsalted Butter
- 1 cup Brown Sugar, packed
Chocolate and Cookie Layers
- 2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 1/2 cup Cookie Butter Spread, slightly melted
- About 10 Biscoff Cookies, crushed
- A handful of Sprinkles (optional, for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
- Melt Toffee Mixture: In a saucepan, melt 1 cup unsalted butter and 1 cup packed brown sugar together. Bring the mixture to a boil without stirring and let it boil for 3 minutes to create the toffee base.
- Arrange Crackers: Lay the saltine crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, covering the entire surface evenly.
- Add Toffee: Pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the crackers, spreading it out to cover all crackers. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the toffee is bubbly and caramelized.
- Chocolate Layer: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and immediately sprinkle 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly over the hot toffee-cracker layer. Wait about 2 minutes to allow the chocolate to soften, then spread it evenly with a spatula.
- Add Cookie Butter and Toppings: Drizzle 1/2 cup of warmed cookie butter over the chocolate layer and gently swirl with a knife for a marbled effect. Sprinkle the crushed Biscoff cookies and optional sprinkles over the top for extra crunch and visual appeal.
- Chill and Serve: Place the tray in the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 hour until the chocolate and toffee are firm. Break into pieces and serve as a delicious snack or dessert.
Notes
- You can substitute other types of crackers if saltines are unavailable, but saltines provide the perfect balance of salty crunch.
- Be careful when pouring hot toffee over crackers to avoid burns.
- For easier spreading of cookie butter, warm it slightly until soft but not melted.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- Add different toppings such as nuts or sea salt for variations.
