Ingredients
Dough
- 3/4 cup warm whole milk
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Filling
- 3/4 cup Biscoff cookie butter spread
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
Frosting
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons Biscoff cookie butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 to 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Activate Yeast: In a large bowl, combine the warm milk and active dry yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until the mixture becomes foamy, indicating the yeast is active.
- Mix Dough: Whisk in granulated sugar, melted butter, and the egg until smooth. Then, add the all-purpose flour, salt, and ground cinnamon. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead Dough: Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 8 to 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic. Then place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- Prepare Filling: Roll the dough out into a large rectangle. Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough, followed by the Biscoff cookie butter. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon evenly on top.
- Form Rolls: Roll the dough tightly into a log shape. Cut this log into 9 even rolls and place them into a greased baking dish. Cover and let the rolls rise for an additional 30 minutes.
- Bake Rolls: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25 to 30 minutes until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- Make Frosting: While the rolls bake, beat together the softened cream cheese, softened butter, powdered sugar, Biscoff cookie butter, vanilla extract, and milk until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Frost and Serve: Spread the prepared frosting over the warm cinnamon rolls right after baking. Serve immediately for the best taste and texture.
Notes
- For extra indulgence, drizzle additional warmed Biscoff cookie butter over the frosted rolls.
- These rolls can be prepared the night before and baked fresh in the morning for convenience.
