Ingredients
Sandwiches
- 4 hot dog buns or split-top sandwich rolls
- 4 crispy chicken tenders (homemade or frozen and baked)
- 4 slices of crispy cooked bacon
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup honey mustard (or Dijon honey blend)
- 1 tablespoon chopped chives (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the chicken tenders and toasting the buns.
- Bake chicken tenders: If using frozen chicken tenders, bake them according to the package instructions until they are crispy and thoroughly cooked.
- Toast the buns: Place the hot dog buns in the oven and toast for 3–5 minutes until they turn lightly golden and slightly crisp.
- Assemble sandwiches: Place one hot chicken tender inside each toasted bun. Top each with a slice of crispy bacon, sprinkle a generous amount of shredded cheddar cheese, and drizzle honey mustard sauce over the top.
- Melt the cheese: Return the assembled sandwiches to the oven for an additional 2–3 minutes, just until the cheese melts.
- Garnish and serve: Remove the sandwiches from the oven, garnish with chopped chives if desired, and serve warm for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, mix a little hot sauce into the honey mustard before drizzling on the sandwiches.
- You can substitute pepper jack cheese in place of cheddar for a different flavor profile.
- These sandwiches are ideal for game days, quick lunches, or dinner when you want something hearty and easy.
