Description

This Best Guacamole recipe blends creamy avocados, zesty lime, and fresh ingredients into a crowd-pleasing dip that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and finely diced
  • 1 Roma tomato, deseeded and chopped
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 small clove garlic, minced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice avocados, remove pits, and scoop flesh into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Mash with a fork or potato masher to your desired consistency—chunky or smooth.
  3. Add lime juice and salt; stir to combine and adjust to taste.
  4. Fold in red onion, jalapeño, tomato, cilantro, and garlic if using. Mix gently to distribute evenly without overmixing.
  5. Taste and adjust lime, salt, or jalapeño for balance.
  6. Serve immediately or store with plastic wrap pressed directly on the surface to prevent browning.

Notes

  • To make ahead, omit tomato and add just before serving for freshness.
  • Store with plastic wrap pressed to the surface to slow browning.
  • For a milder version, use less jalapeño or omit entirely.
  • Creative add-ins include mango, roasted corn, or queso fresco.
  • Freeze guacamole without onion and tomato; stir those in after thawing.
