Description

These Best Cinnamon Cream Cheese Cookies are a delightful treat with a soft texture and a perfect balance of cinnamon flavor. They are easy to make and great for sharing during the holidays or as a sweet gift.

Ingredients

Cookie Dough:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the butter, cream cheese, and sugar: In a large bowl, cream together the butter, cream cheese, and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add egg and vanilla: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Prepare dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  6. Coat in cinnamon sugar: In a small bowl, stir together 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll into balls, and coat in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  7. Bake: Place on the baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are just set and the tops are slightly cracked.
  8. Cool and enjoy: Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
  • These cookies stay soft and flavorful for several days and are perfect for gifting or holiday trays.
