Ingredients
Cookie Dough:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
 - 1 cup granulated sugar
 - 1 cup packed light brown sugar
 - 2 large eggs
 - 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
 - 3 cups all-purpose flour
 - 1 teaspoon baking soda
 - 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
 - 1 teaspoon salt
 
Add-Ins:
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
 - 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
 
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
 - Make the dough: In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts.
