Description

These flavorful Beef Lettuce Wraps are a delicious and healthy Asian-inspired dish perfect for a main course or appetizer. The savory filling wrapped in crisp lettuce leaves is a crowd-pleaser that’s quick and easy to make.

Ingredients

For the Beef Filling:

1 pound ground beef, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, 3 cloves garlic minced, 1 tablespoon fresh ginger grated, 1/4 cup soy sauce, 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional), 1 teaspoon brown sugar, 1/2 cup water chestnuts diced, 1/2 cup shredded carrots, 3 green onions chopped.

To Serve:

1 head butter lettuce leaves separated, sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef Filling: Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the ground beef until browned, then add garlic and ginger. Stir in soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sriracha, and brown sugar. Add water chestnuts, carrots, and green onions. Cook until heated through.
  2. Assemble the Wraps: Spoon the beef mixture onto lettuce leaves. Garnish with sesame seeds.

Notes

  • Butter lettuce or Bibb lettuce works best for wrapping, but romaine can also be used.
  • Add chopped peanuts or cashews for extra crunch.
  • The filling can also be used as a topping for rice or noodles.
