Description

These Bear Paw Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies are a fun twist on the classic peanut butter blossom cookies. They are soft, chewy, and adorned with a chocolate kiss in the center, making them perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Cookies:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Additional granulated sugar for rolling

Toppings:

  • 24 chocolate kisses (unwrapped)
  • 48 mini chocolate chips (for claws)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare baking sheet: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, beat together butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy. Add the egg and vanilla and mix well.
  3. Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until fully combined.
  5. Shape and bake: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll into balls, coat in granulated sugar, and place on the baking sheet. Flatten slightly and bake for 8–10 minutes until golden.
  6. Add toppings: Remove from the oven and immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie. Place two mini chocolate chips on either side of the kiss to resemble bear claws.
  7. Cool and serve: Let cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • If desired, chill the dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies.
  • You can use almond butter or sunflower seed butter for a different flavor or allergy-friendly option.
