Ingredients
Chicken Skewers
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into 1-inch cubes
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon oil (for grilling or pan-searing)
- Wooden or metal skewers
Bang Bang Sauce
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 teaspoon lime juice
Instructions
- Prepare the Skewers: Soak wooden skewers in water for 10 minutes if using to prevent burning during cooking.
- Preheat Cooking Surface: Heat a grill, grill pan, or skillet over medium-high heat and lightly oil the surface to prevent sticking.
- Season the Chicken: In a bowl, toss the chicken cubes with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper ensuring even coating.
- Thread Chicken onto Skewers: Carefully thread the seasoned chicken pieces onto the skewers, distributing evenly.
- Cook the Chicken: Grill or pan-sear the skewers for 3–4 minutes on each side, until the chicken is fully cooked through and golden brown.
- Make the Bang Bang Sauce: While chicken cooks, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice in a small bowl until smooth and well combined.
- Serve: Brush or drizzle the warm chicken skewers with the Bang Bang sauce or serve the sauce on the side for dipping.
Notes
- To save time, marinate the chicken beforehand and prepare the Bang Bang sauce in advance.
- Serve skewers with rice, lettuce wraps, or a crunchy slaw for a complete meal.
- Using wooden skewers requires soaking to avoid burning; metal skewers do not require soaking.
