Ingredients
Dough:
- 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 medium)
- 1/2 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
Filling:
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
Frosting:
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (as needed for consistency)
Instructions
- Dough Preparation: In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Add bananas, melted butter, egg, and salt. Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms. Knead and let rise.
- Rolling and Filling: Roll out dough, spread with butter, sprinkle cinnamon sugar, roll up, and slice into rolls.
- Baking: Arrange rolls in a baking dish, let rise, then bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes.
- Frosting: Beat cream cheese and butter, add sugar, vanilla, and milk. Spread over warm rolls before serving.
