Description

These Guacamole Cups are a delightful and easy appetizer featuring crispy baked wonton wrappers filled with fresh, creamy guacamole. Perfect for parties and gatherings, these bite-sized snacks combine the crunch of golden wonton cups with the smooth, flavorful richness of guacamole, ready to impress your guests in just minutes.

Ingredients

For the Cups

  • 24 wonton wrappers

For the Filling

  • 1 to 2 cups guacamole (homemade or store-bought)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it reaches the ideal temperature for baking the wonton cups evenly.
  2. Form the cups: Press each wonton wrapper gently into the cavities of a mini muffin tin, making sure to mold them into cup shapes with the corners standing up and not folded inward, to create a perfect vessel for the guacamole.
  3. Bake the wonton cups: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake the wonton wrappers for 10 to 15 minutes until they turn a beautiful, crisp golden brown color, indicating they are fully cooked and crunchy.
  4. Cool the cups: Remove the muffin tin from the oven and allow the wonton cups to cool at least 5 minutes in the pan; this rest time helps them firm up and makes them easier to handle and fill.
  5. Fill and serve: Using a spoon, scoop generous portions of guacamole into each cooled wonton cup. Serve them immediately for the freshest taste and best texture.

Notes

  • You can make your own guacamole using ripe avocados, lime juice, salt, diced onions, tomatoes, and cilantro, or use store-bought guacamole to save time.
  • To avoid soggy cups, ensure the wonton wrappers are fully baked and cooled before filling.
  • These cups are best served immediately after filling but can be made ahead of time and stored separately.
  • For a spicy variation, add a dash of hot sauce or chopped jalapeños to the guacamole.
  • If you don’t have a mini muffin tin, silicone molds can also work well to shape the wonton cups.
