These Baked Jalapeño Poppers are a spicy and creamy appetizer perfect for parties or snacks. Fresh jalapeños are filled with a cheesy mixture, topped with crispy breadcrumbs, and baked until golden and bubbly.
Ingredients
Cheese Filling:
- 12 fresh jalapeños (halved lengthwise and seeded)
- 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Breadcrumb Topping:
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Chopped parsley (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix the cheese filling: In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar, Parmesan, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Fill the jalapeños: Spoon the cheese mixture into each jalapeño half and place on the baking sheet.
- Prepare the breadcrumb topping: In a small bowl, toss panko breadcrumbs with olive oil, then sprinkle on top of each stuffed jalapeño.
- Bake: Bake for 18–20 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
- Serve: Let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
Notes
- For extra heat, leave some seeds in the jalapeños.
- You can prepare these ahead and bake just before serving.
