Description

These Baked Jalapeño Poppers are a spicy and creamy appetizer perfect for parties or snacks. Fresh jalapeños are filled with a cheesy mixture, topped with crispy breadcrumbs, and baked until golden and bubbly.

Ingredients

Cheese Filling:

  • 12 fresh jalapeños (halved lengthwise and seeded)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Breadcrumb Topping:

  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Chopped parsley (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the cheese filling: In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar, Parmesan, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Fill the jalapeños: Spoon the cheese mixture into each jalapeño half and place on the baking sheet.
  4. Prepare the breadcrumb topping: In a small bowl, toss panko breadcrumbs with olive oil, then sprinkle on top of each stuffed jalapeño.
  5. Bake: Bake for 18–20 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  6. Serve: Let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For extra heat, leave some seeds in the jalapeños.
  • You can prepare these ahead and bake just before serving.
  • Swap cream cheese for a dairy-free version if needed.
