Description

Golden, buttery croissants filled with savory ham, melty cheese, and a hint of Dijon, baked to perfection for a flaky, cheesy, irresistible dish.

Ingredients

  • 4 croissants (preferably day-old)
  • 4 oz sliced ham
  • 4 oz sliced Gruyère or Swiss cheese
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • Chopped fresh parsley or chives (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice croissants horizontally, not cutting all the way through. Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard inside.
  3. Layer ham and cheese evenly in each croissant and gently press closed.
  4. Place croissants on the baking sheet and brush tops with melted butter.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Try cheddar, mozzarella, or Monterey Jack for different cheese flavors.
  • Optional add-ins: thin tomato slices, spinach, or caramelized onions.
  • Reheat in the oven at 325°F (163°C) for 10 minutes for best texture.
