Description

These Bacon Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers are a deliciously spicy appetizer featuring jalapeños stuffed with a creamy blend of cream cheese, cheddar, bacon, and seasonings, all wrapped in crispy bacon. Perfect for parties or game day, they combine creamy, smoky, and spicy flavors in every bite.

Ingredients

Jalapeños & Filling

  • 12 jalapeño peppers
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese blend
  • ½ cup cooked and crumbled bacon
  • ¼ cup sliced green onions
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika

Bacon Wrap

  • 12 slices bacon (cut in half)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place a wire rack on top, ensuring proper airflow and crispiness. Set aside.
  2. Prepare Jalapeños: Cut the jalapeño peppers in half lengthwise. Carefully remove all seeds and membranes with a spoon to reduce the heat and create space for filling.
  3. Make Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheddar blend, crumbled bacon, sliced green onions, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix thoroughly until evenly blended.
  4. Stuff Jalapeños: Use a spoon to generously fill each jalapeño half with the cream cheese mixture, ensuring they are well packed but not overflowing.
  5. Wrap with Bacon: Take half a slice of bacon and wrap it around each stuffed jalapeño half. Secure the bacon around the popper and place them on the prepared wire rack.
  6. Bake: Bake the poppers in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes until the bacon is cooked through and crispy. For extra crispy bacon, broil on high for the last 2 minutes while watching carefully to prevent burning.

Notes

  • Removing all seeds and membranes reduces the heat level; keep some seeds for spicier poppers.
  • Use a wire rack to allow bacon fat to drip and keep the bacon crispy.
  • Broil carefully at the end to avoid burning bacon.
  • Can be made ahead and refrigerated; bake just before serving.
  • Substitute cheddar with pepper jack cheese for extra kick.
