Description

These Asian Chicken Lettuce Wraps are a delicious and healthy twist on a classic dish. Packed with flavor and easy to make, they are perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.


Ingredients

For the Chicken Filling:

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, finely diced
  • 1 can (8 oz) water chestnuts, drained and chopped
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Butter lettuce or iceberg lettuce leaves for serving


Instructions

  1. Heat the Sesame Oil: Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Cook Aromatics: Add the onion and cook until softened. Stir in garlic and ginger.
  3. Cook Chicken: Add ground chicken, cook until browned. Stir in bell pepper and water chestnuts.
  4. Prepare Sauce: Mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and sriracha. Pour over chicken mixture.
  5. Combine Flavors: Cook for a few minutes to combine flavors. Stir in green onions.
  6. Assemble: Spoon chicken mixture into lettuce leaves and serve.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or tofu for the chicken.
  • Garnish with chopped peanuts or sesame seeds for added crunch.
