Ingredients
Dry Ingredients:

- 1 tablespoon baking powder

Wet Ingredients:
- ½ cup unsalted butter (cold and cubed)
- ¾ cup buttermilk (plus more for brushing)
- 1½ cups peeled and finely diced apples
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
Optional Glaze:
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 teaspoons milk
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and granulated sugar.
- Add Butter: Cut in the cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: Stir in buttermilk until a shaggy dough forms. Toss diced apples with cinnamon and brown sugar and fold into the dough.
- Shape and Bake: Pat dough into a rectangle, fold to create layers, cut biscuits, place on baking sheet, brush with buttermilk, and bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.
- Optional Glaze: If using, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla, then drizzle over cooled biscuits.
